What Would Dom Do Christmas special

by Dom Majdandzic 11 Dec 2017
Every year we love to make something special with coffee to savour on Christmas Day with our loved ones. This year I want to share two of my favourite christmas drinks and desserts. This is what I'll be making for my family on Christmas Day! Firstly, please watch the What Would Dom Do Christmas special where I walk you through how to make these delicious treats, and then below you can follow the recipes. Enjoy!

White Horse Russian

Here's how to make it
  • Fill your glass with ice
  • Add in 30ml of Vodka.
  • Top with cold milk to about 7/8 full.
  • Then finish with your choice of brewed Coffee. We used 20 - 30mls brewed with a stovetop brewer.
  • We used our Christmas Blend that you can get here.

Christmas Affogato

Ingredients

  • 100g glacé cherries
  • 15g glacé ginger
  • 35g frozen (or fresh) blueberries
  • 15ml Pedro Ximenez
  • 1 litre of vanilla ice cream
  • Finely grated fresh orange peel
  • Fresh brewed Coffee. We used 20 - 30mls brewed with a stovetop brewer.

How to make it

  • Make praline with sugar and water (tips on how to make it here) - we left out the nuts. Once it has set, crush it reasonably fine.
  • Rough chop fruit with a knife and soak in Pedro Ximenez or Rum for 5 - 10 minutes.
  • Carefully fold fruit through vanilla ice cream and freeze until hard.
  • Scoop ice cream into your favourite glass and sprinkle crushed praline on top.
  • Grate a generous amount of orange zest on top of ice cream.
  • Finish with your choice of brewed Coffee.
